How Can I Get Around My Universities Firewall To Play Online Games?

I currently attend a university/government institution that has a pretty restrictive firewall. While I can access most websites, my specific issue right now is online gaming. Somehow it either blocks or limits my bandwith to the point where I can’t play games (the one I specifically want to play is World in Conflict). Is there a free http-tunnel or something like that someone could recommend that would get me around this problem without being detected and getting me into trouble? I’d rather not spend money for unlimited bandwith for the tunnel, but if you knew for certain it would support World in Conflict I might be willing to pay.

Son Has Been Messing Around With Wii, Lost Internet, Downloaded Games, Mii Characters?

I’m not sure what he did, but the internet which we purchased as well as one downloaded game, and the Mii characters are gone. After reconnecting to the wireless router, we do still have the unspent points, but is the stuff we already paid for gone? What about the other saved stuff like the Miis? What did he do to make this happen?
