As Parents What Are Your Real Thoughts On The Violent Video Games?
Why do parents buy or provide their kids with the money to buy violent video games? Is this just a new babysitter for the parents that never sit down to play or watch the games with their kids?
Teach your kid right from wrong!
Violent video games and movies are not aloud in my house. Only education ones.
As a parent I don’t have a problem with violent video games.
I really don’t think violent video games and movies influence children’s behaviour. I think that what is taught by the parents influences their behaviour.
As I child I watched violent movies and probably played violent video games. But I knew that it was pretend and that that behaviour wasn’t acceptable in society.
I don’t like violence and still flinch in movies when watching a violent part. I dont understand how someone could intentionally do harm to another person or animal. It makes me sick.
But I do enjoy playing a game on occasion and going around and bashing monsters or shooting them. Because its not real and I find it a great way to relieve anger and tension. But that dosn’t mean that when I’m stressed I go on a killing rampage in real life.
But when I was a child my deputy principal also had the same concerns that everyone nowadays has about video games but his was about the books I was reading. I had to explain to him that just because I was reading about vampires, didn’t mean I was going to turn around and start biting peoples necks. I just enjoyed the stories and the different writing styles.
If someone cant tell reality from fantasy then they have problems. And the problem isnt reading, watching or playing violent things.
im not a parent, but i have alittle brother who loves those games. and if he wont buy them, he’ll find them online. theyre no good they affect hte nervous system badly.
They are babysitters, and so many parents aren’t even home to know what their kids are doing.
Videogames are 100% unnecessary.
As a teenager I loved Mortal Kombat, especially the fatality moves. So did a lot of my friends. I also liked Nightmare Creatures in which I would hack monsters to pieces. My friends and I all grew up to become responsible adults, we all finished college. And we’re not violent and never were. We all know that fantasy is fantasy. I think the negative effects of violent video games are being exaggerated by clueless parents. A lot of other factors in life influence one’s character much more. Ruthless criticism or humiliation from a parent, mistrust in family, harsh teacher, etc. have much stronger negative effects on a juvenile than the spine-ripping fatality moves on a video game.
